The City of Vernon has numerous distinct neighbourhoods including City Centre, Predator Ridge, Bella Vista West, East Bella Vista Highlands, North Vernon, Waterfront, Okanagan Hills, Okanagan Landing, Blue Jay Subdivision and Foothills. Some of these neighbourhoods have their own services, bylaws and neighbourhood plans within the Official Community Plan.

  • Vernon is located within the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO). Certain government services are provided to Vernon's residents and business by the RDNO directly, and others are jointly funded by the City of Vernon and the RDNO, such as Greater Vernon Recreation.

    The RDNO is one of 28 regional districts in the province of British Columbia.  The Regional District functions as a partnership of the six municipalities (Armstrong, Coldstream, Enderby, Lumby, Spallumcheen, and Vernon) and the five electoral areas within its boundaries.

  • The City of Vernon has numerous distinct neighbourhoods including City Centre, Predator Ridge, Bella Vista West, East Bella Vista Highlands, North Vernon, Waterfront, Okanagan Hills, Okanagan Landing, Blue Jay Subdivision and Foothills.     The Okanagan Indian Band is directly adjacent to the City of Vernon. The Okanagan Indian Band offers a variety of services and facilities such as health care, social services, and early childhood education.

     

  • The District of Coldstream is immediately adjacent to the City of Vernon at the north end of Kalamalka Lake and is the home of the much beloved Kalamalka Beach (aka Kal Beach). Many of its more than 10,000 residents work, play and shop in the City of Vernon on a regular basis. The District of Coldstream is also a funder of Greater Vernon Recreation.
