MyCity provides property owners with 24/7 access to their City of Vernon information for utility, property taxes, and business licensing accounts.

MyCity Frequently Asked Questions

  • To create a MyCity profile you will need:

    • An internet connection
    • An email address
    • A phone number
    • Your account number and access code (these can be found on your utility invoice and/or your property tax notice)

    Once you are ready to go, you can register for a MyCity profile here or follow our step by step instructions. 

    • Get your invoices by email by signing up for the City's eBilling services
    • Update your mailing address easily in just a few clicks of the mouse
    • Find forms to sign up, change, or cancel automatic withdraw payment plan(s)
    • Print copies of your current or past invoices for up to 7 years
    • Renew you business license
    • Track the progress of certain development applications, like building permits
    • It's environmentally friendly, convenient, and easy to use!
  • Yes, our detailed how-to page will walk you through the process, step by step. 

  • Unfortunately, making a payment to your utility and property tax is not possible through MyCity. To see a list of payment options for your utility and/ or property tax account select one of the below options:

  • The City of Vernon does not give out private access codes over the phone. To obtain your account number and access code please create your MyCity profile and once your MyCity profile is activated you can email covdata@vernon.ca and request your account number and access codes. Alternatively, you can bring your ID to City Hall located at 3400 30 Street, Vernon, BC and we can provide you with your information. 

  • There is no need to create a new MyCity account. You can change your email in your existing MyCity account by selecting "Update Profile" then "Change Email" and make the necessary changes.

  • You can make any changes necessary through your MyCity account. When you select "Update Profile" you can update your:

    • Email Address
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Phone Number
    • Password
    • Security Question
  • There are two ways that you can change your invoice delivery method to email or paper (mail).

    • Option 1: On the main page of your MyCity profile, select "Edit Accounts" then "Change Bill Delivery Method" and update the delivery method for each account. 
    • Option 2: Once you are in one of your registered accounts, in the "Statement Notification Method" section, select your delivery option - paper or email - then click "Save".
  • The reason that the account will show as historical is possibly because of a change to your title through the Land Titles office. This can happen if you remortgage or change something with your property. 

    If you are seeing "Historical Account" beside your utility or property tax account(s) on your MyCity profile and you have not sold the property, check your most recent invoice to see if you access code has changed, and, if so, register the new account. If you do not have a recent invoice please contact our Financial Operations department by phone at 250-550-3636 or email covdata@vernon.ca for a new access code. 

  • Yes, each owner can have their own MyCity account and select their preferred method of delivery.

    Note: Paper copies of utility invoices are only mailed to one owner. You can have multiple owners receive email copies of the invoices. 

  • If you have sold your property and would like to remove the registered accounts you have attached to your MyCity profile select "Edit Accounts" and then select "Remove Accounts".

    Note: Even after you've sold your property, you can view historical information for up to 7 years. 

  • After 2 unsuccessful attempts to enter your security questions, your MyCity account will be locked for 60 minutes to protect your account. After 60 minutes, you will be able to re-attempt to enter your security questions. 

  • If you have forgotten your password, you can reset your password by following the on the MyCity login page. Select "Forgot your password? Click here to reset" on the MyCity login page and an email will be sent to you from NoReply@vernon.ca. If you don't receive it within 5-10 minutes, make sure to check your spam/ junk folder. Once you receive the reset password email, follow the link provided and you will be asked your security question. Once the question is answered successfully, you will be prompted to create a new password.
