Community Planning
The City of Vernon is responsible for the development of long range plans that guide development and growth in the community. These plans provide residents and the development community with a clear vision and direction for how the city will change as more people choose to live here.
The Age & Dementia Friendly Community Plan ensures the needs of older adults, people living with dementia, and their care partners are understood and accommodated as our community grows.

The Housing Needs report identifies the community's housing needs in the short and long-term. These include consideration for housing supply relative to population growth, changing household dynamics, and affordability challenges.

The Transportation Plan sets priorities for improving the transportation network. These include building safer connections, filling gaps in walking and biking networks, enhancing transit corridors, and providing infrastructure that supports sustainable and effective travel as the community grows.
