Organizational Asset Management Plan
The City of Vernon's Organizational Asset Management Plan (OAMP) is a strategic framework designed to help the City effectively manage its infrastructure and other community assets over the long term.
The plan focuses on ensuring that essential assets such as roads, parks, buildings and drainage systems, are properly maintained and replaced to meet the needs of the community. By assessing the current condition of these assets, forecasting future requirements and identifying sustainable funding strategies, the OAMP helps ensure the City can deliver reliable, cost-effective services to residents today and into the future.

The purpose of this plan, specifically, sets out:
- Estimate replacement costs
- Forecast spending
- Determine sustainable funding levels
- Estimate annual and 100-year funding gaps, and
- Develop strategies and policies to close the funding gap and support sustainable service delivery.
The overarching objective of this Plan is to support sustainable service delivery. Sustainable service delivery ensures that current community services are delivered in a social, economic, and environmentally responsible manner that does not compromise the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
The City's asset management program is an on-going process of review and refinement. This plan improves upon, and replaces the City's 2013 Sustainable Infrastructure Investment Plan.

The purpose of Levels of Service is to define and communicate the quality and extent of services that the City aims to provide, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and legal requirements.

The objective of asset management, is to ensure that assets fulfill their required purpose by balancing costs, opportunities, and risk against the desired performance of assets.
